Lesson 4: Sukun and Shadda
Sukun: The sign ⠠(dots 2,5) placed after the letter. It connects the letter to the previous one and makes it pronounced without a vowel (quiescent).

Shadda
Shadda: The sign ⠠(dot 6) placed before the letter. It causes the letter to be pronounced twice. The letter is treated as two letters: first it is connected to the previous letter with Sukun, then pronounced with its vowel.
