Lesson 7: Tanwin
Tanwin means nunation. It only occurs at the end of words and indicates that the word is an indefinite noun. There are three types:
Fatha Tanwin
Fatha Tanwin: (Double Fatha) The sign ([اً]) ⠁⠆(dots 2,3). If the preceding letter is emphatic, the word ends with ‘an’; if non-emphatic, with ’en’.

Kasra Tanwin
Kasra Tanwin: (Double Kasra) If the preceding letter is emphatic, it is pronounced as ‘ın’; if non-emphatic, as ‘in’. In Braille it is represented with ⠔(dots 3,5).

Damma Tanwin
